Ranomed 500 contains Ranolazine 500 mg, an extended-release formulation used in the management of chronic stable angina. It works at the cellular level by improving blood flow to help the heart work more efficiently. Unlike beta-blockers or nitrates, Ranolazine does not reduce blood pressure or heart rate, making it suitable for patients who can’t tolerate other anti-anginal medications.

Uses:

  • Long-term management of chronic stable angina pectoris
  • Adjunctive therapy with beta-blockers, nitrates, calcium channel blockers, or ACE inhibitors

Key Benefits:

  • Helps relieve chronic stable angina
  • Improves exercise capacity and reduces chest pain episodes
  • Can be used alongside other anti-anginal drugs
  • Maintains stable hemodynamics — safe for patients with bradycardia or low BP

How It Works

Ranolazine works by inhibiting the late phase of the inward sodium current in cardiac cells. This reduces intracellular calcium overload, decreases myocardial wall tension, and improves oxygen efficiency, especially during stress. This action leads to better control of angina symptoms without negatively impacting heart rate or blood pressure.
